“Charity Auction for NICCO「Exhibition of Artifacts」in Kyoto” has been held every year in one of department stores in Kyoto city since 1991, aiming to help support people in developing countries and disaster affected areas.
Ran by volunteers and cooperated by department stores, all the profits ― except necessary expenses― are donated to a Japanese non-governmental organization, Nippon International Cooperation for Community Development (NICCO), which has 35 years history. Donations are then used for “NICCO’s rural development project in India based on Ecological Sanitation Toilet, and emergency assistance for Kumamoto earthquake”.
Works donated to this Charity Auction come mainly from Japanese artists and intellectuals but also partially from sports players and talents. Every single work has its own message to “the world peace” and its sophisticated beauty has significant power to attract people. By either biding or buying those works, you could contribute to humanitarian support for people living far away in developing countries and disaster affected areas. This is the beauty of this charity auction.
We thank all the support given by those who are involved in this charity auction. Let us fulfill our mission to become a bridge and send all the support to the world.
